Let people talk all the shit they want. It may be irritating as fuck; you know, that feeling you get from putting down your pride. And it probably would feel good for a short while saying what you have to say, making them look stupid, or whatever. But once you speak up, you empower them because they realize they can get to you. You may have the best argument, but the fact that you gave in to their rage makes you look vulnerable. I mean, if you really have to say your shit, then go ahead, but at least learn the difference between ignorance and prudence.

You could always just smile too. I’ve learned, as others have, that being happy in the midst of a world trying to bring you down, it angers the fuck out of them that you’re not giving them that attention—that attention required to get you just as angry and weak.
